The most important aspect gone into the design of this project was its historic significance. The surrounding buildings offered a remarkable backdrop to the restaurant which made the design simple, stark and contemporary. By keeping in mind the client's needs, the design was an effort to create an ambience for a warm and comfortable meeting space and "a great dining experience with the stars of film and music history". This concept was carried forward in its simplest form with the walls of The Cafe Royal being covered with murals of famous Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and the likes, of the past and present race from now into beyond time.
