Thus came alive the conceptualization of the Caravan Serai in Bandra, Mumbai. A restaurant rooted in the northwest frontier cuisine of the middle eastern origin, it derived its aesthetics from the very same.<br /><br /> The rustic look of the desert, jagged feel of the sand dunes and timelessness of the serai's were created by an extensive use of canvas and multiple levels. Somber lighting and partitions treated in bamboo and wooden logs added to the experience.<br /><br /> Warm tones setting the moods, undulating patterns recalling the desert safaris, a rooted cuisine, a metal fabricated kitchen definitely takes one back into the time of endless travel journeys.
